Mayor

Born in 1970 in the town of Çiçekpınar, within the Şarkikaraağaç district of Isparta, Metin Akbulut completed his primary education in his hometown. He graduated from Konya Imam Hatip High School in 1990 and earned his undergraduate degree from Anadolu University, Department of Public Administration.

He joined the Turkish National Police in 1992 and began his career as a Police Officer in Konya in 1993. In 2011, he was promoted to the rank of Chief Sergeant (Başpolis). Having specialized in Public Order, Counter-Terrorism, and Organized Crime, he took active roles in operations against terrorist and organized crime groups in numerous provinces, most notably in Konya, Mardin, and Diyarbakır. Throughout his career, he participated in various in-service training programs, received numerous certifications, and was honored with multiple Certificates of Appreciation and Commendation.

After nearly 30 years of dedicated service, he retired from the Police Department in 2021, receiving a High Honor Certificate from the Diyarbakır Police Department.

Metin Akbulut is married and has two children. He was elected as the Mayor of Çiçekpınar from the AK Party in the local elections held on March 31, 2024.
