Metin Akbulut was born in 1970 in the town of Çiçekpınar, Şarkikaraağaç district of Isparta. He completed his primary education in his hometown and graduated from Konya İmam Hatip High School in 1990. He later earned his bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Anadolu University.
Akbulut joined the Turkish National Police in 1992 and began his professional training. In 1993, he started serving as a police officer in Konya. He was promoted to the rank of senior police officer in 2011. Throughout his career, he received training in public order, counterterrorism, and combating organized crime. He served in various provinces, particularly Konya, Mardin, and Diyarbakır.
During his service, he attended numerous professional training courses and programs and received various certificates. He was also awarded certificates of appreciation and commendation in recognition of his professional service.
After nearly 30 years of service, Akbulut retired from the Turkish National Police in 2021, having received a High Honor Certificate from the Diyarbakır Provincial Police Department.
Metin Akbulut is married and has two children. He was elected Mayor of Çiçekpınar as the AK Party candidate in the local elections held on March 31, 2024.
